Syncing Metafield Definitions

Q) Why are some metafield definitions showing as not supported?

  • In order to make metafield sync available as soon as possible. We have decided focus on the most common metafield definitions.

  • We will send out notifications as new definitions are added.

Q) Shopify's maximum supported metafields is 200, why can I only sync 50?

  • Syncing metafields is Shopify API intensive. The goal is to sync metafields without impacting higher priority syncs like: orders and inventory.

  • 50 product and variant metafields (100 total) is just the starting point, we plan on increasing this limit as the feature becomes more mature.

Syncing Metafield Values

Q) The metafield on Syncio is currently marked as "synced" why are values not showing up on my synced products?

  • Yes. Once synced, you are free to use the definition as needed.

  • Any products that are synced from the source store where the metafield was synced from will receive auto metafield value syncs.

  • You can use this newly synced definition to add values to any unrelated product.

    • For example: If you synced a size guide metafield from Source store A, you can add metafield values to products that you own or from other source stores.
